ABOUT ME
I am a graduate student studying Systems Science and Mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis. working on problems in machine learning and data analytics. I'm also a member of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy at Wash U.
In my free time, I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction (or any other book), playing video games, and tabletop games like Chess or Dungeons and Dragons. I am fascinated by the power of storytelling, and the mechanisms used in books, cinema, and gaming to create meaning. I'd like to explore the intersection of engineering and storytelling to better my teaching and publications.
I am also an avid cook, and future Iron Chef. My mother taught me everything I know about cooking, and I find it's a delicous way to stay connected to my roots and family. Finally, I am an avid runner and student of martial arts, and I've found the discipline required by karate is very similar to the rigor of grad school.
